Finally Honda has awaken from Dreams – will launch CB300R in India
Honda is readying CB300R for India. Launch imminent
After a deep sleep of 7 years, I mean Honda went into a deep slumber after launching CBR150R in 2012, has finally awakened with more sense. Even since Honda relaunched CBR250R last year, everyone seemed to lost trust in Honda. But as a matter of fact, Honda has confirmed the launch of CB300R in India. The price they have signaled towards is less than Rs 2.5 Lakh.
Bookings are now open in select dealerships for an amount of Rs 5000.
Rs 2.5 lakh, for this NEO Sports Cafe’? Because Honda has decided to bring CB300Rvia CKD route and will assemble here in India. Thailand is where Honda has intended to import Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits which will attract a mere 15% import duty. The launch of Honda CB300R in India will happen much sooner than anyone would have expected.
Honda CB300R will be a Pocket Rocket with just 143 Kg weight
The pricing will be such that it will undercut Rs 2.44 Lakh price of KTM 390 Duke in India. One can easily expect CB300R price to be in the vicinity of Rs 2.2 Lakh ex-showroom which is near the price of TVS Apache 310RR.
Honda CB300R get its propulsion force from 286 cc single-cylinder, 4-Valve, fuel-injected, liquid cooled engine. 31 bhp @8500 rpm and 27.5 Nm @7500 rpm which will be enough considering weight of just 143 Kg. which is lighter than KTM 200 Duke.
Power to Weight ratios of popular bikes
390 Duke – 263.8 bhp/tonne
CB300R – 216.78 bhp/tonne
BMW G310R – 208.2 bhp/tonne
TVS Apache 310RR – 195.26 bhp/tonne
Dominar 400 – 189.56 bhp/tonne
